Numeracy KS1

This video involves a mixed ability year 6 class learning Numeracy. Students are encouraged to think and use ICT effectively to enhance their learning.

In this fascinating collection of stories, the teacher is able to share their experiences of teaching using ICT in Numeracy.

The teacher uses a wide range of ICT, including interactive whiteboard to enhance and keep the focus on the lesson. The concepts of algebra, tables and graphs are taught.

The teacher is able to assess student's progress by getting the children to express their own ideas and by recapping previous lessons to see if they have understood. The teacher is able to see how the students have progressed.

Objectives

The main objectives for the lesson are:

  • to express the relationships between variables in various ways
  • Using word, symbols, tables and graphs.
